This is the second part of my favourite tracks list. For the main course I am again going to choose from various genres.

9. Chaka Khan – I Feel For You

I have lost count of how many times I have played this song over the years. It was released in 1984 and reached number one in the UK. I remember watching it on Top of The Pops and I instantly fell in love with the song and the video. Chaka Khan is one of my favourite artists.

10. Super Cat – Don Dada

“Well well well, yuh see some likkle bwoy a come talk bout

Gold teet front teet side teet coloured teet a we pull all teet

And if yuh don’t like it di whole nine tek yuh face

Mi forty five beat yuh see it, doggard dweet

Follow mi now, follow mi now, so wah”

Released in 1992, Super Cat was big on the dancehall scene back in the day. This track and ‘Ghetto Red Hot’ are firm favourites and remind me of going to various blues parties, hanging out with my friends clutching our little bottles of Canei Blush and having a great time dancing all early morning. Still makes me smile whenever I hear Super Cat being played.

11. Kings of Tomorrow – Finally

“Time marches on never ending,

Time keeps its own time,

Here we stand at beginning,

And then goes passing us by,

And I, I, I can dream for us all,

I hope I’m in a better state”

Released in 2000. This is another huge club track, I love everything about it and always have to sing along when I hear it being played. This reminds me of nights at an amazing club that used to be in London called The Cross where this was a regular big tune. Everyone would be all hot and sweaty, singing and dancing with our arms in the air. There were so many brilliant club nights there that I will write a blog dedicated to The Cross at some stage. I still miss that place.

12. Maribou State – Steal

I listen to Maribou State a lot. If you haven’t heard of them they are definitely worth checking out. They are an electronic duo consisting of Liam Ivory and Chris Davids. The vocals on this track are by Holly Walker and this is a very sultry, chilled out track.

13. London Grammar – Big Picture

“Love, what did you do to me?
My only hope is to let life stretch out before me

And break me on this lonely road

I’m made of many things, but I’m not what you are made of

Only now do I see the big picture
But I swear that these scars are fine
Only you could’ve hurt me in this perfect way tonight
I might be blind, but you’ve told me the difference
Between mistakes and what you just meant for me”

London Grammar are one of my favourite bands. Their music is amazing, choosing my fave track of theirs was really difficult. They are an Indie band consisting of Hannah Reid on vocals, Dan Rothman and Dominic ‘Dot’ Major. Their debut album ‘If You Wait’ released in 2013 is a solid 10 and so is ‘Truth Is A Beautiful Thing’ which this song is on. I saw them live a few years ago with one of my closest friends and it was a really emotionally charged night for numerous reasons. Not ashamed to say I cried because hearing Hannah singing live was an amazing experience.

14. Crazy P – Witch Doctor

Another very tough choice. It was either this track or ‘Heartbreaker’. I first heard Witch Doctor being played at work, someone had put it on the office playlist and I was instantly hooked. It’s such a feel good track, has to be played loud. They were originally called Crazy Penis but from 2008 decided to have a little rebrand. The UK has a lot of awesome electronic music groups.

15. The Prodigy – Hotride

Speaking of English electronic music groups there is no way I couldn’t mention The Prodigy, or my number 16 pick. There are so many tracks to choose from, it was a tough choice between this and ‘Breathe’ as both have an incredible intro and tempo from the outset. They are going to have to be a draw! Juliette Lewis provides the vocals. I went to see them one Christmas and my friends and I were going to Bang Face (worthy of its own blog) straight after so we were all in Xmas fancy dress. I loved seeing guys in their 50s losing their shit in the audience and having fun at The Prodigy gig. I have a Boxing Playlist I put together in honour and memory of Keith Flint. They don’t need any introduction, they are absolute legends. Rest in Power Keith Flint.

16. The Chemical Brothers – Go

“Can’t think, can’t sleep, can’t breathe

Can’t think, can’t…

Everything gettin’ harder to find

Everybody jumpin’ out of they mind

Everybody going out of they skins

See we get to the end, but that’s where we begin, you feel it

Mannequins say “We breakin’ the mold”

Breakin’ out and we breakin’ the codes

Similar to the Jacques Cousteau”

Another of my faves. Have seen them live twice and hope to have a chance to see them again at some stage. So many great tracks to choose but I am going to be biased and pick ‘Go’ because it features the Hip Hop legend Q-Tip. This is such a feel good track I love it. If you get the ‘Brotherhood’ greatest hits album you get a Brucey bonus as it features Electronic Battle Weapons 1 which they produced as a set of records for DJs to play in clubs. Each track is BANGIN’!!

As I close out this blog and have a think about which final eight tracks to pick for part three of this blog series, I am already kicking myself for limiting my picks to 24 tracks. There’s too many to choose from! As alway, thank you for checking out my blog.
